After nearly three years in Winchester our formula of excellent freshly-produced food in a warm friendly atmosphere seem to have paid off. We have hundreds of loyal customers. So when we had the opportunity to take an exceptional property just off Newbury’s main street near to Marks and Spencers, we decided to extend El Sabio into the Berkshire town.
Newbury opened in October 2011 and despite the recession has proved an immediate hit! As one of our diners at the opening night remarked “Newbury needs an independent restaurant with good food and service. All we have had is fast food outlets and the inevitable chains”.
To mark our opening night we invited from Jerez, the birthplace of tapas and flamenco, the renowned group Mia Tierra Flamenca who performed to a packed house. We’re just sorry that by 8pm the restaurant was full to bursting on both floors and we had to turn so many people away.
If you would like to enjoy a great meal in a warm friendly atmosphere, do give us a try. If you’re shopping in Newbury, why not pop in for a tapas lunch? It’s great value and will give you a real taste of Spain.
You’ll find us very friendly and keen to provide you with excellent value, good food and attentive service.
Please come and give us a try!
